We are devoted to the study of SUBASE Wellfleet - a tiny naval base on the outer edge of Cape Cod.

You won't find this base on any map, or buried in the text of the latest Pentagon budget proposal. That's because SUBASE Wellfleet is NOT your typical naval base, for two main. reasons.

  1. Rather than being home to a fleet of Virginia-, Los Angeles- or Ohio-class boats, SUBASE Wellfleet is home to a fleet of highly advanced microsubmarines - known publicly as autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs).

  1. Rather than patrolling the oceans to monitor to maritime activities of U.S. adversaries, SUBASE Wellfleet microsubmarines are devoted to monitoring micronaval anomalies - colloquially referred to as "Pixie Ships" - strange phenomena reported on the surface of the ocean and beneath the waves, which by all indications are the operations of non-human intelligence (NHI) operating a fleet of warships, the mission of which is not entirely clear.
